On Saturday morning we gathered at 9 A.M. at the Curacao sign at Wilhelmina Park in Punda. This was the meeting point and starting point for a nearly 3-hour city walk through beautiful Punda. Once fully complete, our guide Gisella began by sharing some insights into the history of the island. We walked through Wilhelmina Park towards the Fort, where we admired the beautiful colored buildings and coral stones. The tour continued through Fort Amsterdam, walking through the narrow, colorful streets of Punda. We passed the famous Pontjes bridge, the Chichi store, the oldest synagogue, and the city’s small stores. Along the way we were given a bottle of water and Gisella shared various information about the city and life here on beautiful Curaçao. The tour ended at the floating market where we searched for special fruits. A walking tour with lots of information, an enthusiastic guide and a chance to get to know Curaçao a little better.
