Pietermaai district is one of the most iconic and popular places in Curaçao. This neighborhood is diverse with various clubs, bars, restaurants, cafes, hotels, and other type of accommodations. All this diversity takes place in these iconic Dutch colonial homes that is part of our island’s heritage. There is something here for everyone, right next to Punda is Pietermaai Curaçao. I have shared all there is to do in Pietermaai.
BijBlauw, Pietermaai
BijBlauw is a fabulous place in the heart of Pietermaai where one can eat, sleep, and shop at. This little boutique hotel is in two iconic colonial buildings that make Pietermaai such a unique district in Willemstad. In all, this hotel has nine rooms and one apartment. Their restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It overlooks the ocean and it is a place where you can escape the world. The restaurant is cozy and you just want to sit there, look out into the ocean, the ships pass by, and simply enjoy the moment. It is also a vegetarian and vegan-friendly restaurant. The shop is almost a must to visit. Here you can see various home, fashion, and accessories items.
Beans
Beans is a unique and trendy coffee shop. With its gorgeous, eye-catching red historic building, Beans is a wonderful place to start your day. This café is open from 7:30 am till 4:30 pm and a popular place to grab a coffee to go or a place to eat breakfast and lunch. Once inside, the atmosphere of beans is charming and cozy. I simply wanted to keep reading my book and drink my tea. I admit it wasn’t able to resist their delicious cakes, they offer chocolate, red velvet, carrot, cheesecake, apple pie, and so much more. There is much more to Beans then coffee or cakes, they offer a diverse menu of sandwiches, breakfast bowls, and of course their Poke bowls! Do keep in mind Beans is a popular place to go for locals and can easily get busy. Do hesitate to ask them the history behind their cash register!
