On Wednesday the 12th of December I had the unique opportunity to see the historic and stunning city of Punda, as well, cruise around Mambo beach while riding a Jet Ski. This was the very first time I have ever driven a Jet Ski and it was a true adventure. The journey from Marie Pampoen to Punda and all the way back to Mambo was a marvelous undertaking. Cruise along with me as I share all the of jumps, splashes, dips, drops, and momentum of my time on a Jet Ski.
Punda, Willemstad
Immediately once onboard the Jet Ski, we headed West towards Punda. Straight off the bat, we were in open waters, fortunately, or unfortunately, the sea was rough that day. This meant there were waves for us to jump through and over all the way to Punda. With the astonishing scenery of the coast of Curaçao and the breathtaking deep blue open sea to the left of me! The power of the sea and strength of the Jet Ski was arresting! With my heart pounding and a great smile of my face, I made it to Punda in one piece.
We rode into the opening of the harbor, all the way to the Emma Bridge, and here we could see the magnificent view of the Punda and Otrobanda. We could even see all the people on the bridge and in Punda, waving and staring at us. Luckily, there was a cruise ship docked at the Mega Pier in Otrobanda and we cruised right up towards the great ship. I felt so small next to this great white ship.
Mambo
The truly thrilling part of this ride started when we rode back East to Mambo. After leaving the cruise ship behind we turned back to head towards Mambo. Heading East in Curaçao at sea means you are going against the current. As the sea was rough, we were in for an exciting and hectic ride back. Instantly, I felt the difference when I got my first splash in the face. Honestly, as exhilarating as this ride back was it was equally terrifying for me, however, my colleague had an amazing time going full throttle. It was intense going against the fierce and powerful waves we experience. I got to feel and experience the might of the sea here at Curaçao, it was exquisite.
