Must-Visit Events on Curaçao Throughout the Year

Did you know that besides beautiful beaches and cultural activities we also have fun events on Curaçao? Weekly, monthly, quarterly, or yearly. Small and large. Food, music, art, or all in one. No matter when you visit or what you like there’s a big chance there’s an event out there—on the island—that you will enjoy.

The events on Curaçao cover a large number of interests. The best way to be in the know of that event are happening at the moment of your stay is to check the ‘Events’ section Facebook. You can also check the local event folders, Pasabon or Go Weekly, that can be found in many shops or attractions around the island.

 

Curaçao North Sea Jazz Festival – August

The Curaçao North Sea Jazz Festival is the largest festival on the island and one of the most well-known events on Curaçao that attracts a lot of international visitors. The CNSJ is a music festival that happens yearly around August. The lineup includes renowned artists from different genres like Bruno Mars, John Legend, Enrique Iglesias, and many more. Curaçao Pride – October

Like many other countries, in Curaçao, we also have a yearly Pride festival to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community. The festival is often 5 days long and features several parties and of course and the iconic Pride walk through the streets of Willemstad. Curaçao Culinair – April

Kaya Kaya Street Party –Twice a Year

A party that should have been just a block party for friends has turned into the largest block party on Curaçao spread across several streets in Otrobanda. Kaya Kaya isn’t only a place to enjoy good music, but it’s also a place where you admire arts and murals from different artists. Locals will open their home and sell delicious good for you to enjoy. Vegan Food Fest – Quarterly

If you want to participate in an eco-conscious event on Curaçao than the Curaçao Vegan Food Fest is exactly what you’re looking for. Vegan nachos, sushi, and cakes. Organic wine, beer, and natural handcrafted products. The Vegan Food Fest is all about exposing the public to a better and more conscious lifestyle. Passionistas Pop-Up Fair – Quarterly

During your visit, you not easily get the opportunity to buy authentic local products and souvenirs. However, at the Passionistas Pop-Up Fair, you’ll be able to meet and buy from the local crafters themselves. Passionistas is more than just a craft fair. Punda Vibes – Every Thursday

Punda Vibes is one of the events on Curaçao that has become a weekly tradition. From 6 to 8 pm, every Thursday night, you can enjoy late-night shopping, live music, performances, and fireworks. Carnival Season – February/March

One of the largest and most impressive “party” on the island is the Curaçao Carnival parades. The Carnival season has a total of 7 parades over the course of 3 weeks. It first starts with the Horse and Banda Abou Parade, followed by the Children’s Parade. The week after you have the Teen Parade, Grand Carnival’s Parade, and at last the Children and Grand Farewell Parade. Curaçao carnival has been one of the biggest events on the island featured and covered by many international news outlets. This event alone is worth a trip to Curaçao.

Koningsdag – April 27th

The biggest party in The Netherland is the celebration of the King’s Birthday. As a country in the Dutch Kingdom we, of course, have to join the party. The celebration starts the night before in Pietermaai, followed by a craft and second-hand market the next day in Willemstad.
